The Art of Life
Photobucket I'm so glad you're here! "The Art of Life" is where I share my journey as an artist & Momma. It's a place where I hope to encourage other women that they are artists too. In this small little space I seek to share, document, and be reminded of God's wonderful grace, all around us. ....And I would be so happy to have you journey alongside me! So grab a cup of coffee and linger for a while. I hope you leave feeling refreshed. Photobucket

Speaking Out

~~Okay.
I'm going out on a limb here. I'm taking a risk. I'm risking that some of you will quit reading my blog.
But you know what?
That's okay.
I cannot stay quiet. My Saviour was a man who stood for right.
Someday He will not ask me if I made many friends here on Earth. He will ask if I too stood for the right.
~~I tend to shy away from controversy. I often keep my opinions to myself out of the fear of offending others.
I can't do that anymore.
~~I fear for our country. I fear for the world my daughters (and someday grandchildren) will grow up in. I have a quiet, somber, heavy weight on my heart and a feeling that we are hanging in the balance.
~~There are issues that are of the utmost importance. I am:
**Pro-life
**Pro-marriage (defined as a Man and Woman)
**Pro-family
**Conservative in my values

The concert pianist Huntley Brown wrote a very eloquent editorial which better states my feelings.
I hope you will take the time to read it.
~~This is not a popularity contest. I don't need a celebrity to tell me how to vote.
Neither will I tell you how to vote.
I simply ask you to pray, consider what's at stake, and make the decision with your heart.

I love your blog and have no intention of leaving even though we disagree on issues! Hey, I live with a staunch Republican! I am strictly pro-life, even as a liberal. I think I tend to be moderate on some issues and more liberal on others (marriage), but hey, the more power to you for posting your opinion. :) I have toned down my political fervor on mine, I could be a crazy Obama supporter, but am afraid of alienating people.

So, life is full of different opinions. :) The important thing is that people vote. Too many don't have that right.

Thanks Misti!
One of the great things about our country is that we all have the right to have different opinions and to speak them without fear.
And you are so right:
Absolutely everyone should vote.
That's not just a right, it's a privilege.

Kasie, I'm a quiet reader of your blog. I've never responded to you but I love coming here to see what you have to say or what you've painted or what not. I agree with everything you've said. Of course, it easy to because I feel the same way as you. What's hard is speaking out when it seems you are finally in the minority. I guess I never thought that would happen to me but, in this country, right now I believe that conservatism is the minority. There is somehow a view out there that says that if we don't vote a certain way and a certain candidate don't vote that there will be riots. I believe that view is trying to scare the other side into making sure this certain candidate does get into office. I don't know if those in our generation will see socialism but our children certainly may. I'm right along with you in praying and considering what's at stake.

Kasie,
I'm thankful for your post, because that email said precisely what I've been trying to say to people for over a year. And I don't mean to discount peoples' fears over the economy, but perhaps that old quote slightly modified says it best: 100 years from today, it won't matter how much was in your bank account, or what type of car you drove, but the world might be a better place because you were important in the unborn life of a child. In the end, my hubby reminds me that it is all in God's hands. And even the judgement America might receive could play into it all if we are indeed living in the end times. So, we just take a deep breath, keep speaking the Truth, keep sharing the love of God, and trust that God has it all under control, eventhough it doesn't look like it when you see the news.

And you know, even if our opinions differed, I would still read your blog because I don't know anyone else who shares my love of children in art and Norman Rockwell!!
Your e-pal,
Jen

Kasie,
I am so glad you posted! I know that had to be a stuggle for you!

That was a very moving peice! We can't afford to make an uninformed decision this election! Our children are depending on us. We must do what we can while we can.

I doubt anyone was suprised by your stand. Your blog daily upholds good family values and it radiates in your posts and paintings. It's a breath of fresh air! Keep up the good work!
May God bless America and
America, Bless God!
Love ya!
