The Art of Life
Photobucket I'm so glad you're here! "The Art of Life" is where I share my journey as an artist & Momma. It's a place where I hope to encourage other women that they are artists too. In this small little space I seek to share, document, and be reminded of God's wonderful grace, all around us. ....And I would be so happy to have you journey alongside me! So grab a cup of coffee and linger for a while. I hope you leave feeling refreshed. Photobucket

Inspiration~Norman Rockwell

~~Hmmmm. Politics are a touchy subject!
I'm an artist so of course all this political talk brought a painting to mind; Norman Rockwell's "Election Day."
Somehow Norman Rockwell had this amazing gift of capturing the human-ness of us all.
(Is that even a word?)
Even though the subject matter of this painting is quite tense, for some reason you catch yourself smiling. You realize that this couple should stop their bickering and hug the little boy on the floor. I just love the lady's pouty face and the fact that she's wearing red high heels under her robe, lol.
~~I could spend hours looking at his work. The poignant piece "The Girl at the Mirror" is one of my favorites.~~To check out the official Normal Rockwell website, you can go here.
Hope you're all having a great week.

I knew the name but not the work - I'm glad you put me on to him!

Oh, and look at the poor little dog hiding under her chair. All their expressions are fantastic!!

Great paintings for sure. The only one I have seen in real life is the portrait of John Wayne at the Cowboy Museum in Oklahoma City. It is amazing.

He has always been a favorite of mine. I used to love going to the libray and looking at his works in a big Norman Rockwell book they had. I would find something new every time I studied them! They always make me laugh.

I never noticed the red high heels! LOL!
I think they are all fantastic!!
