The Art of Life
Photobucket I'm so glad you're here! "The Art of Life" is where I share my journey as an artist & Momma. It's a place where I hope to encourage other women that they are artists too. In this small little space I seek to share, document, and be reminded of God's wonderful grace, all around us. ....And I would be so happy to have you journey alongside me! So grab a cup of coffee and linger for a while. I hope you leave feeling refreshed. Photobucket

Treasure Hunting Score!

~~We live in a neat old town with lots of unique shops and antique stores. Occasionally I'll take the girls with me and we'll go "treasure hunting." They do surprisingly well considering all the glass and breakables. (Yikes!) We all three consider it to be an adventure.
~~Yesterday we needed a bit of adventure so we wandered through the stores. The girls made a game of finding cats; cat figurines, cat books, etc. I was surprised at how many they found.
~~Then, I found the treasure! I was sorting through some books when I came across several old Little Golden Books illustrated by Eloise Wilkin. I almost squealed out loud. She's one of my favorite children's illustrators. The books were in amazing shape despite their age (one was published in 1952!) and were quite a steal in price. It really made my day.

~~Today we're off an another adventure; a little road trip with some friends to a neat children's museum. I can't believe that summer's almost over! We're trying to make the most of it.

Enjoy your day everyone!

I love old Golden Books. I think I have some in our attic at home, rather my parents attic. My grandmother had a stack as well.

Congrats on your find!!! I've been feeling the need to go treasure hunting too. Maybe I'll get to do that before too much longer. Your town is a haven for treasures! I wish it was closer to me.

I love those old books. One of my favorites is Mr. Dog. Lucky you to have all those antique stores close by.
