The Art of Life
Photobucket I'm so glad you're here! "The Art of Life" is where I share my journey as an artist & Momma. It's a place where I hope to encourage other women that they are artists too. In this small little space I seek to share, document, and be reminded of God's wonderful grace, all around us. ....And I would be so happy to have you journey alongside me! So grab a cup of coffee and linger for a while. I hope you leave feeling refreshed. Photobucket

"Gentleness" Acrylic on watercolor canvas~16"x20"~Copyright 2008 & Beyond~Kasie Sallee
~~This is going to be a bit of a quick post but I had promised to post the final pictures of this piece and I didn't want to go into the weekend without getting that done.
~~This is the second angel in my planned series. Her name is "Gentleness." Sierra was my model. (And Savannah was my helper when taking the pictures, lol.) I love the way that the kitten was looking so intently at her and she was looking so lovingly at his little paw.
~~I welcome any thoughts you have about the piece and I thank you for taking the time to stop by.

Have a wonderful weekend!

It looks great!

Do you plan on selling this one, or do you keep the ones that are modeled after your kids???

So sweet. Exactly the kind of captured moments that I'm drawn to. My only critique is that I would have preferred to see the wings a little higher. Still, it is absolutely gorgeous, and the time on the hair was certainly well spent!

Thank you so much everyone.

Misti, I don't plan on selling the originals because I'm planning on building up a series. But I do plan on selling prints of them in the (hopefully) near future. :)

Thank you Jen. You know, the wing is the part that I'm still not too certain about. I purposefully made it different than the wing in "Peace." I wanted this one to have a fuzzy texture to play off of the kitten. But I'm not sure about it. Thanks for your input. I hadn't thought about making it higher.

Yay for WIPs! It is a bit unnerving posting them isn't it? I like your comment on how you feel like your artwork is naked - good one!! I think that's how I feel too - I just didn't know it, til I read it :)
I've been peeking and seeing your progress on this piece. I love it! I'm a fan of backlighting too. And oh, the background: How I love that background!
And thanks for all your comments on my blog. It's nice not to see a 'zero' ALL the time!
