The Art of Life
Photobucket I'm so glad you're here! "The Art of Life" is where I share my journey as an artist & Momma. It's a place where I hope to encourage other women that they are artists too. In this small little space I seek to share, document, and be reminded of God's wonderful grace, all around us. ....And I would be so happy to have you journey alongside me! So grab a cup of coffee and linger for a while. I hope you leave feeling refreshed. Photobucket

"I'd Rather be in the Studio" book tour

~~First, the big exciting news at our house:
She was so excited! This girlie has been wiggling her two bottom teeth for weeks now. I don't think it'll be much longer before she loses the other one. She woke up early so that she could see what the tooth fairy left her. :)

~~Last night I went to a book signing/meetup with Alyson Stanfield for her new book "I'd Rather Be in the Studio." It was also a studio tour of Studio Six in the Paseo district. It was fun and I really enjoyed getting out and meeting other artists. Alyson was so kind and gracious and took the time to talk with me and answer some questions. I regularly read her Art Biz blog and also subscribe to her newsletter. She's an artist advocate, workshop leader and art-marketing consultant and I truly respect her advice. I haven't yet read the book but I'm looking forward to diving right in. It's full of advice on how to help you bust your excuses and move forward in your art career.
Speaking of moving forward, I have a painting sitting over here staring me in the face. Better get to work! Have a super-great day!

Awww, another first. :) That's cool that you went to a signing. I love that type of stuff.
What painting are you working on? I may have already asked you this, but would you ever be up to doing commissioned work?

The first tooth is very exciting! Yay yay!

You will have to let me know how the book is. I've been tempted to buy it. I'm SO glad you got to meet Alison!

Kasie, it was so nice to meet you! The only downside to these events is that I don't get to spend too much time with anyone. And OKC was especially hard because I knew so many people. I truly appreciate your making the trip!
