The Art of Life
Photobucket I'm so glad you're here! "The Art of Life" is where I share my journey as an artist & Momma. It's a place where I hope to encourage other women that they are artists too. In this small little space I seek to share, document, and be reminded of God's wonderful grace, all around us. ....And I would be so happy to have you journey alongside me! So grab a cup of coffee and linger for a while. I hope you leave feeling refreshed. Photobucket

The Journey

(Express yourself by Ronna Penner found here.)

~~Last night I was reading through an old art magazine and I found this quote by one of my favorite artists. I really love it because I think it's something that we forget. I say that my blog is about the "Creative Journey of an Artist and Mom." Sometimes I think it's so easy to get caught up with looking towards a destination, that we forget to enjoy the journey. I especially do that with my art. I can sometimes be such a perfectionist with each piece. I forget that one piece is not the end of my journey as an artist, it's just another step along the way.
~~I'm sorry that I've been a bit absent lately. The truth is that I just haven't been feeling well. I live in the prairie state; you know "Where the wind comes sweeping down the plains." (I need a musical note button.) Well, that wind has been driving me crazy with allergy and sinus problems. Almost everyone you talk to around here has been struggling with allergies. I've just had a lot of headaches, tiredness, and generally felt pretty blah. I'm hoping the Claritin I picked up today will help.
~~On a sad note, a legend of the wildlife art world passed away on Monday: Bob Kuhn. I've had the privelege of seeing some of his work at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. He truly was a master at capturing the beauty of nature. What amazed me the most about his work was the way he used perfectly placed brushstrokes. He left a wonderful legacy through his work. What a blessing that must be for his family!
