The Art of Life
Photobucket I'm so glad you're here! "The Art of Life" is where I share my journey as an artist & Momma. It's a place where I hope to encourage other women that they are artists too. In this small little space I seek to share, document, and be reminded of God's wonderful grace, all around us. ....And I would be so happy to have you journey alongside me! So grab a cup of coffee and linger for a while. I hope you leave feeling refreshed. Photobucket

Inspirational Artist

~~Happy Monday Everyone!~~
First I wanted to share the link to an inspirational artist with a wonderful heart. Her name is Karla Dornacher. I have one of Karla's books that belonged to my Great-Grandmother. The book has always been special to me because I know how much my Nanie loved it. When I found out that Karla had a blog, I became a regular reader. Just recently, Karla honored me by leaving a comment on my blog and then sending me a couple of encouraging emails.
Karla uses her art, blog and life to share God's love with others. Her story is such an ispiration to me. She tells how God led her down the path to become the artist she is today. You should check out her blog because this month she will be giving away a Christmas collection of her artwork. Every comment you leave during October will enter you in the drawing.

~~I had so much fun working on the recent illustration that I've decided to try another one. I'm almost finished with the pencil drawing and will soon start on the coloring. I plan to post it for Monday Artday's theme of "Birds" and Inspire Me Thursday, which is also doing "Birds."

~~You all may notice that my art seems to be going through an experimental stage lately. At first, that bothered me. I'm at a time in my life when I really want to pursue my art wholeheartedly and feel like I need to be settled in my style and medium. And yet lately I've just had the urge to try new things and stretch a little. This weekend I finally came to the conclusion that this can only be a good thing. Maybe it's what I need to really find my place and my heart in my art. I hope you all will join me as I continue on this journey. And I always appreciate your thoughts and comments!

Kasie,

I think you are wise to follow your instincts and try out some new things. I'm sure that its going to work out...and I can't wait to follow the journey!
