Illustration Friday~Open
~~I've known about Illustration Friday for a while now. I always thought it would be fun to participate, but most of the work that I do takes several weeks to a month to finish.
Today I thought I would try something new.
~~The theme for this week's IF is "open." I decided to do a revisit of my "Storytime" piece. This is a pencil drawing with digital color. It's the first one that I've ever done and it was so much fun! I've had Photoshop for over a year now but haven't taken the time to really play with it. I wanted to play even more but the day flew by. I will definitely be trying this more often.
~~There's an arts festival in my town tomorrow and I'm really looking forward to it. Seeing art in person always leaves me inspired and ready to create. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! :)

Welcome to IF! This is a beautiful piece! Very peaceful and lovely. Perfect for the topic too.
This is lovely Kasie :) congrats for giving not only IF but also photoshop a go :)
Yes Welcome to IF, I love this site though I watch and don't participate as much as I'd like to ^_^
very nice illustration, lovely light colors!
Very soft and lovely illustration.
Kasie,
I decided to join IF this week, too. During sign-up, one of the pages I was on had you listed! I'm not as quick as you are on the draw! Way to go! It looks great.
Sweet illo. Love the idea of sharing an open book.
We had similar ideas! :-) Books do open doors to brand new worlds, and can bring us closer to friends.
Welcome to IF! I watched for a long time before joining and participating and it has been a wonderful experience!
gorgeous. I can't imagine doing something like that. Very nice.
The open book is just perfect for the topic! I love this! It is so sweet and precious :) you did a great job in photoshop! I really like the colors.

What a great idea! It is beautiful, Kasie!
Lovely! And I like the combination of pencil and digital coloring very much!
Keep working at the Photoshop. I've been using it since at least 1992. It only gets better as the years go by. Eventually, you won't be able to tell you used photoshop at all. Great work!
Lovely, fresh and simple and telling.
