~~Happy Tuesday everyone (Because somehow Monday got away from me!) I was so tired yesterday that I really felt like going to bed at 5:30 in the evening. All the running around and staying up late from last week finally caught up to me. But we all got to bed pretty early last night and I'm feeling much better today. Plus, Savannah and I got our run in this morning and somehow that always ends up giving me more energy.
~~I was thinking today about what an amazing thing the internet is. I know that there's a lot of bad out there and I know that we will have things to guard and protect against when the girls are old enough to use the computer on their own. But I also know that, because of the internet, I've been able to stay at home with my children while also continuing my education. Honestly I've learned more on my own than I did in college. The internet has also allowed me to make friends from all over the world; people that I never would have met any other way. It has allowed me to connect with other artists and to learn about opportunities and resources.
~~And speaking of learning, the internet has been a lifesaver when it comes to this painting that I'm working on. Friday evening I really felt like it was ruined. If you checked my blog on Saturday, you would have seen a depressing little post, lol. I was so tired and discouraged with it. But I put it aside, spent some fun time with my family, chatted online with some of my artist friends, and let myself get some much needed rest. Then I started doing some research to find out where I went wrong. I started finding bits and pieces of information here and there that were truly helpful. I made a trip to the art store yesterday and today, armed with new information, I found the courage to start working on it again. And you know what? I'm starting to feel hopeful and excited about it.
~~Which goes to show that I'm learning a few life lessons as well:
*It's not a good idea to try something new when you're tired.
*It's important to take care of your health because it affects your emotions and how you think.
*It's okay to just be silly, laugh and do nothing sometimes; in fact it's necessary.
*Don't give up so easily. Walk away, take a break, and come back with fresh eyes.
~~You guys are probably thinking, "Well Duh!" But I think that busy Mommas sometimes need those reminders. I know that I try to take on the world sometimes and forget to take care of myself.
~~Well, tonight is soccer practice and a PTO meeting. (Boy does that make me feel old!) I hope you take some time today to do something fun!

I'm glad you found some helpful information for your painting! Can't wait to see it!
such good advice Kasie,
yes its very important for us mums to remember all of this .. sometimes i think we definitely just need to remember to have some careless fun rather than trying to correct / teach everyone and oursleves all the time its exhausting.
