The Art of Life
Photobucket I'm so glad you're here! "The Art of Life" is where I share my journey as an artist & Momma. It's a place where I hope to encourage other women that they are artists too. In this small little space I seek to share, document, and be reminded of God's wonderful grace, all around us. ....And I would be so happy to have you journey alongside me! So grab a cup of coffee and linger for a while. I hope you leave feeling refreshed. Photobucket

First Day of School!

(Click to see larger.) "School Days" kit by Katie Pertiet found here.

~~Well, my Big Girl has had her 1st day of Kindergarten! I couldn't help it; I had to scrapbook a page already. (I plan to add to the journal piece and list her teacher and school, but I didn't really want to post that on the internet.)
~~I woke up early to make a special breakfast. I tip-toed into the kitchen, trying to be as quiet as possible. I heard her little voice say, "Mommy?" She was already awake! I told her to close her eyes and rest a bit longer but she said she couldn't. She was too excited.
~~We had waffles with chocolate gravy. Not exactly a healthy breakfast, but definitely a yummy one! Sierra was so excited that she could hardly eat. Dustin had planned to go in to work a little late so that he could come with us to school. She didn't act nervous at all when we said good-bye. I couldn't help smiling at the enthusiasm just bubbling out of her, but I was also fighting back tears. I did cry a little in the car. My baby is getting too big!
~~Savannah did better than I thought she would. At lunchtime she got a little worried. She said "Ya ya lunch?!!" (She calls Sierra Ya ya.) I had to convince her that her Sister was okay because we had packed her a lunchbox.
~~I had a hard time getting much information out of Sierra when I picked her up. I think my little chatterbox was tired! But she did say that she loves school.
~~This was the sad little Sissy this morning. What a sad face! I'm glad that my girls are so close, but it makes it hard on them when they have to be apart.

How exciting! You must be so proud and yet a little sad too...As a kindergarten teacher, we give parents specific questions to ask their kids, because the kids have a difficult time sorting and remembering their day. If you ask what story did you read or what songs did you learn...something more specific, they remember easier. She looks so beautiful and happy! Does she get to go ALL day? We still only have half a day in Idaho...
