*2 Cups Flour
*1/2 tsp Baking Soda
*1/2 tsp Salt
*3/4 Cup Shortening plus 4 1/2 tsp water
*1 Cup Packed Brown Sugar
*1/2 Cup White Sugar
*1 Tbs Vanilla
*1 egg
*1 egg youlk
* 2 Cups Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease cookie sheet.
2. Sift flour, baking soda, and salt together in medium bowl.
3. Cream together shortening & water, brown sugar, and white sugar until well blended. Beat in vanilla, egg, and egg yolk until creamy. Mix in sifted ingredients until just blended. Stir in chocolate chips by hand. (I know 2 cups is a lot, but it makes the cookies so good!)
4. Drop on cookie sheet 1/4 cup at at time. (This recipe makes big, fat cookies. I use a metal 1/4 cup measuring cup to scoop out the dough. Don't flatten the dough balls when you put them on the sheet.)
5. Bake for 15-17 minutes in preheated oven.
Enjoy! This recipe makes about 15 big cookies.
