~~So, would you like a sneak peek? Here's what I've been working on. So much is going to change in this, but it will give you an idea of where I'm heading.
~~I'm thinking of making the background a tad bit greener. I really wanted an earthtone and this is looking too blue to me.
~~You can't see the penciled in lettering in the middle but it will say "upon a." I'm going to have to fix a spot there too.
~~I've decided that I will definitely need to put some grass under the bottoms of the dresses to anchor them. Right now it looks a little strange: like there's grass growing out of their shoes,

~~I'm working on toning down the orange in the skin, but I've also been in a very shaded area. I think it will look better when there is more around it to compare to. One of my goals recently has been to push the values farther than I normally would. That can be a bit scary!
~~Well, now you know I really am working on something! And now you can

Have a wonderful weekend!

Wow! This is really great! Such wonderful detailing. I love the colors you've chosen because I'm quite taken with that blue at the moment, but you know in your heart what you need to do! I agree about the anchoring. I like the hint of grass, and I think in order to balance it you should do what you were thinking about. Can't wait to see in finished! Keep up the awesome work! ^__^
Thank you Valaine!
:)
ooohhhhh....I like!! I want to buy a copy of it when you are done! It is so spectacular! Way to go, Kasie!
oooh lovely .. this is going to be another beauty ... yes i agree it need some grass or rock or something to anchor them
for the skintones like you said i dont think it will look orange in comparison to the other bits :)
oh its just going to be beautiful .. keep going :) cant wait to see more.
just a question are you using any solvents or blending tools ? it looks so smooth was just wondering whether you did or not :)
Thanks Valerie and Belinda. :)
Nope. I'm not using any solvents. I haven't tried that yet. On the background I used Caran d'ache Neocolors II and water. A couple of posts earlier, I gave a review of them.

I'm hoping to get more work in on this today.
:)
Wow, Kasie! This is spectacular. I absolutely love what you are drawing. They are going to cherish this so much when they are older. What an amazing gift to your daughters. :)
I think you've got so much more talent in those fingers of yours than you realize.
You're sweet Laura!
All I can see are the things that I want to fix in it that are driving me crazy. :)
Oh my gosh! This is so amazing. I am soooo impressed! You are truly talented. Do you ever do commission work? I would love to have a picture done of my boys!
You have disappointed us in the least! Art can be frustrating sometimes to get it the way you want. It's going to be awesome!
Thank you so much Zoe and Marie!
Marie, I haven't done a comission in a while but I would be glad to work with you if you really did want me to do their portrait. :)
This is lovely, I bet it would win some competitions. A lovely memory to cherish too! You do outstanding work!
