The Art of Life
Photobucket I'm so glad you're here! "The Art of Life" is where I share my journey as an artist & Momma. It's a place where I hope to encourage other women that they are artists too. In this small little space I seek to share, document, and be reminded of God's wonderful grace, all around us. ....And I would be so happy to have you journey alongside me! So grab a cup of coffee and linger for a while. I hope you leave feeling refreshed. Photobucket

Enjoy Life

~~This is our silly boy Brenden. He definitely found a way to put our bills to better use (as a pillow.) He's funny that way. You can put a sheet of paper down in the middle of the floor and he will run over, lay down, and take a nap on it. That is, if he can't find his favorite pillow first: somebody's shoes.
~~I have been working more on the Storytime piece, but not really enough to post another update. I'll wait until I have more to show, which will probably be next week. Dustin and I are leaving tomorrow and I'm going to be participating in my first run, a 5K. I'm excited, but a little nervous, lol. Dustin has a duathlon about 5 hours from home and it just so happened that they were having a run at the same time. So we decided to let the Girls have some Grandparent time and make it a getaway for us. 5K is 3.1 miles and I know I can do it. I've just never been in a race environment before (not that I'll actually be racing anyone.)

Enjoy Life Kit by Mindy Terasawa found here.

~~Yesterday I just kept coming across tragically sad stories. I read about a Momma who lost her little Angel in a drowning accident, and about a little Angel who's Momma died from a fire. I actually heard several other heartbreaking stories. It put me in such a somber mood. I grabbed my girls up and gave them lots of hugs and kisses. It was such an eye-opening reminder that none of us, young or old, know when our last day is. It made me think, if I were to lose a loved one, or they were to lose me, how would they remember the last days we shared together? Would there have been joy and laughter; hugs and kisses? When you read these heartbreaking stories, life is suddenly put in perspective. All the small stuff that we get so caught up in, just doesn't seem that important anymore.
~~So I wanted to send you off with the quote above as a reminder. Have a wonderful weekend. Hug your Babies. Snuggle with your Spouse. Call your Momma. Bake some cookies. Run around in the sprinkler, or just take a bubble bath with a good book.
~~I'll be back when the weekend's over to let you know about the race. If you think about it Saturday morning, you could send me some good thoughts, lol.

Kasie, what great reminders to savor the day! How very true that we never know when the end is coming. Good luck on your first race - I bet you'll love it. It is an exciting thing to run with others, even if you aren't worried about your time. Can't wait to hear about it and see the progress on storytime.

Cuddly cats and little kids help make the sadness go away.

My cat does that with the paper, too! Weird!

Thanks for helping me keep life in perspective. I am going to hug my kiddos in the morning, long and hard.

You will do a great job on your 5K, I am so proud of you.

You go girl!
