~~Yep, I was as surprised as you are, lol. My first ever run and I got second place in my age group. (I couldn't get a good picture of the plaque.) Honestly though, it wasn't a huge race. If I'd run in something larger I probably wouldn't have placed, but it was still exciting. I had no idea where I stood in the ranking because my stopwatch messed up during the run and they didn't have finishing clocks at the race (which was surprising.) So when they called out my name during the awards, I almost fell over.
~~Dustin was awesome. He did a duathlon of a 5K run, 18 mile bike, 5K run. (Twice my running plus a bike ride!) He placed 5th overall and 2nd in his age group, which was great because he'd been having some knee problems. I was worried that he wouldn't be able to finish the race but he didn't let it hold him back.

~~We had such a nice weekend! We stayed in Kansas City the second night. We went to their historic
City Market which is supposed to be one of the best in the nation. It was a lot of fun. There were vendors there with all sorts of trinkets, treasures and antiques. It felt like being on a treasure hunt. We left with a big box of fresh fruit for about half the price I would have paid at the grocery store. Strawberries, blueberries, canteloupe, pineapple, cherries. Yum! It was definitely a neat experience.
~~We had a playdate today at the Omniplex which is a cool big science musuem. The girls loved it. I'm feeling a bit worn out though. I feel more tired today than I did after the race. I guess it's just catching up with me.
~~Well, I've got to go attack the laundry. I hope to catch up on my blog reading and email later. Have a super afternoon Ya'll!
