The Art of Life
Photobucket I'm so glad you're here! "The Art of Life" is where I share my journey as an artist & Momma. It's a place where I hope to encourage other women that they are artists too. In this small little space I seek to share, document, and be reminded of God's wonderful grace, all around us. ....And I would be so happy to have you journey alongside me! So grab a cup of coffee and linger for a while. I hope you leave feeling refreshed. Photobucket

Figuring this all Out

"Playing in the Sand" Copyright 2004 & Beyond Kasie Sallee

Okay,
I've been working to figure out this whole blog thing and I'm still having a bit of trouble. For some reason I can't get the comment link to show up. But I'm working on it, lol!
The picture above is a prismacolor painting that I did a couple of years ago. I had discovered the work of the amazing watercolor artist Steve Hanks I truly love the emotion that he creates in his work. After studying his paintings, I really began to think about my art and ask myself a lot of questions. Does my work show emotion? Does it connect with the viewer? What am I trying to say with my art? What is my voice?
Those are all questions that I'm still working on.

ETA: Steve Hanks does quite a few female nudes along with some amazing artwork of children. It is his paintings of children that I admire the most. If you are offended by nude artwork, please be aware of that when clicking the link above.
